The Internet is full of places where anyone
can stream music for free. We have YouTube, spotify, and 8tracks, but one of my
recent favourites is Hype Machine. Although at first it can seem a little bit
tricky to navigate, once you get the hang of it, it is an awesome way to
discover new music. This website stands out to me from other music sites because
it offers an easy way to come across new music, as well remixes of your
favourite songs. Instead of just playing a song, it links you to the original
blog it was posted on, while giving you the option to listen to it on the spot.
It gives you the choice to look at the newest uploads to the site, remixes, non
remixes, and Canadian posts while also giving you the option to search by
genre. One of my favourite features on the site is that it gives you the
ability to follow your friends and see what they are listening, making it a
great website to keep in touch musically with friends.
