All About Those Random Animal Facts

I for one have never used an official blog before, so thanks CS371 for introducing me to the world of blogging! For my first post choosing just one thing to share with everyone was extremely difficult for me. Thanks to my Facebook newsfeed I managed to find multiple things that I found interesting! After much deliberation I was able to cut it down to one unique and slightly ‘educational’ link from the page known as “Oh My God Facts!”. The specific link (which I have attached below) that caught my attention is called “Sad Animal Facts Are The Cutest Way To Ruin Your Day”. I know the title sounds a little depressing but to be honest it was truly the pictures that lured me in. Before describing the content of what you will be exposed to from the link I will first give a little background information as to why I had my heart set on sharing this with everyone. I for one am a huge animal lover and will fully admit that I had a zoo membership for five years throughout high school and part of university. Ever since I was a kid I have always been intrigued about learning random facts about animals because I find it extremely fascinating how different species act and live so differently than humans.

Now that I have blabbed on about my reasons as to why I chose this specific link to share, I will now describe what you will find on the site if you are interested in checking out “Sad Animal Facts Are The Cutest Way To Ruin Your Day”. Basically, each picture is composed of three things; one - a simple cartoon drawing of an animal, two - a random fact about that specific animal, and three - a sarcastic speech bubble said by that animal to add a little humor. “Oh My God Facts” only posted a little teaser of these animal facts but if you are curious in finding out more facts you can go to sad animalfacts.com you will find pages of these random facts about different animals (I will also post the link to that website as well down below). The best part of exploring this website is that I found out they are on other social media sites, so it is safe to say that I now follow ‘sadanialfacts’ on Instagram. Another thing I noticed is that judging by the fact that their first post was only 17 weeks ago they are still fairly new, but seem quite popular already. In conclusion if you are interested in learning random facts about random animals I highly suggest you click on the link(s) below!

  1. Good observation, Naomi: social media sites and platforms never exist in isolation. They are all part of a social media ecology
